S.O.C.A. Seniors Club
Honouring the Roots of Our Community
The S.O.C.A. Seniors Club is a dynamic space dedicated to honoring our elders as the primary keepers of Caribbean culture and history. Operating without the boundaries of a traditional facility, our club meets through community-based gatherings, Carnival arts workshops, and meaningful volunteer opportunities, keeping our seniors at the heart of the community, sharing their expertise wherever our programs take flight.
We recognize that our elders hold the stories and traditions that form the backbone of our diaspora. Through this program, we provide opportunities for social connection and creative expression, specifically inviting seniors to lead and participate in the vibrant legacy of Carnival arts.

While S.O.C.A. thrives through our work in the community, we recognize the vital need for a permanent home. For a community that has experienced displacement, a dedicated space is more than a building, it is a sanctuary where we can regroup, unite, and advocate for our collective future. We are currently conducting the necessary research and feasibility studies to acquire a multi-purpose facility that will serve as a central hub for Caribbean culture in Ontario.

Flexible studio space for recording, visual arts, and the development of Carnival arts.

A kitchen for the Caribbean Food Movement and accessible spaces for community gatherings, language classes, and cultural archives.
S.O.C.A. is actively seeking partnerships and funding to move from “pop-up” programming to a sustained physical presence. This center will be more than a venue; it will be a permanent anchor where our artists can create, our families can belong, and our collective legacy can thrive for generations.
