Freedom Mas

Freedom Mas Band is a Toronto Caribbean Carnival mas band that describes itself as the only Jamaican mas band, celebrating Jamaican culture within the Toronto Carnival. Based at 1553 Eglinton Avenue West in York, Ontario, it sells costumes and delivers a full road experience, music trucks, goody bags, food and entertainment along the parade route. It is led by bandleader Johanna Grant and has operated for several years, emphasizing inclusion and a vibrant, celebratory atmosphere. Costumes are offered through an online shop and by appointment viewing.
