Program Details

S.O.C.A. Kids Club

Over the course of five programs offered by the S.O.C.A. Kids Club, engaged participants will learn costume design and mas making, education on the history of carnival and its roots back to Africa, the connection of carnival to slavery and emancipation, the evolution and diversity of carnival music, lessons on the origins of the Steelpan and more. 

 

Caribana Kids Club Arts Education Programs are as follows; 

1) Carnival Costume Mas Camp & Mini-Carnival 

2) Steelpan Workshops 

3) Calypso and Soca Workshops 

4) Caribbean Dance

5) African Drumming

 

The programs of the S.O.C.A. Kids Club are intended for participants to gain an understanding and appreciation of Caribbean culture and are designed with scalable and flexible delivery so that the workshops can be enjoyed either as part of a school program, summer or cultural camp.
